Italian Film Festival Il Cenacolo Members Night

Il Cenacolo Italian Movie Night

Saturday, October 15, 2022

Mark your calendar for “Il Cenacolo Italian Movie Night” at the Marin Italian Film Festival. This year marks the 45th anniversary of Cenacolista Lido Cantarutti’s “labor of love,” the festival where he brings the best Italian films of the season to the Bay Area and each film has English subtitles. They are screened in the beautiful Angelico Concert Hall on the Dominican University Campus in San Rafael. Check out the whole series of six Saturday films online  or (Download a PDF brochure).

Momenti di transcurabile felicita (Ordinary Happiness)
Momenti di transcurabile felicita" ("Ordinary Happiness")

The Film  @8pm:

The film, showing at 8pm, is “Momenti di transcurabile felicita” (“Ordinary Happiness”). The film is a comedy from director Daniele Luchetti. Paolo, the main character, has just been killed in a tragic accident. Thanks to a miscalculation by an accountant in Heaven, he is allowed back on earth for 92 more minutes, giving him time to review and resolve the important things in his life. It is subtitled in English.

Film Tickets and Venue:

This year we purchase our own tickets ($21) from the Italian Film Festival site dominican.universitytickets.com

When booking, let the salesperson know you are part of the Il Cenacolo party. They have reserved for us a block of seats (orchestra center), about half-way back from the screen. If this doesn’t work for you, just let them know, you can sit elsewhere, and no one will take it personally. This is a great venue and there is plenty of parking on the campus at this hour. They may still be checking for shots and boosters, so best bring that evidence with you.

Venue: Angelico Hall at Dominican University, 20 Olive Avenue, San Rafael, CA. Directions to Angelico Hall

Dinner Before the Film @5pm:

We have reserved a small private dining room for 5 PM at La Toscana restaurant in San Rafael for those wanting to get together for dinner before the film. The room only holds 14 so contact our organizer David Cobb  if you want a place at the table. You can order from the whole menu and we will collect funds individually at the restaurant after dinner. Bring your own wines to share if you want, but please be prepared to pay corkage for what you bring. There is also ample space elsewhere in the restaurant once the room is filled.

Ciao, and hope to see you there.
