Barry Goodfield, PhD will present a case study of “The Boy Who Started Fire with his Eyes,” the Italian teenager who caught the attention of the world when it was reported that a comic book he was reading suddenly burst into flames. Under the auspices of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Dr. Goodfield traveled to Rome to meet and treat young Benedetto Supino. Working with Lucia Direzone, MD, Director of the Sanatorio of the Catholic University Hospital in Rome, he used his trademarked Non-Verbal Leak (NVL) method of identifying observable unconscious nonverbal messages.
