Lise Lindstrom, daughter of Cenacolista John Lindstrom, was born in Alameda, graduated from Sonora High School (her mother taught music and drama), San Francisco State, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
After a brief interest in Broadway music, Lise realized that her voice was better suited to Grand Opera. She has sung in Berlin, Hong Kong, Turin, Athens, Amsterdam, Finland and many houses in the USA. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2009 as Turandot. Her La Scala debut is this April, once again as Turandot. Other roles include Tosca, Salome, Venus and Elizabeth (Tannhauser), Amelia (Masked Ball), and Senta (Flying Dutchman). She is singing Turandot in San Diego in late January and early February, just before her luncheon presentation. Lise lives in Bloomington, Indiana. Her husband is on staff at University of Indiana.
