Thursday, January 21, 2010 Our fellow Cenacolista, the Hon. Quentin L. Kopp, former member of our SF Board of Supervisors, California state Senator and retired judge of the California Superior Court, will bring us up to date on the current status of California's voter-approved Bullet Train - how much it will probably eventually cost, what are the odds that we will ever be able to use it during our lifetimes, etc. etc. Whether we "like it or not," this project - 160,000 construction-related jobs and 450,000 permanent jobs, estimated in 2008 to cost $9.95 billion in General Obligation bonds - will have a lasting effect on our state's economy and continuing development. Judge Kopp promises to keep all of us informed as well as entertained concerning this subject.
