Bruce Walker was born in Bronxville, New York in 1932. He graduated from DePauw University in Indiana in 1953, and spent the next two years as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. For the next 17 years he was a case officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, and in 1974 he moved to San Francisco to work as a business development manager at Bechtel until 1988. He currently lives with his wife Fran in the Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco.
Bruce returns to Il Cenacolo as a speaker from a few years ago when he spoke on the subject of Maestro Gaetano Merola, founder of the San Francisco Opera. At today's luncheon he plans to speak on the subject of CIA's support of the Tibetan resistance from 1957-1973. He will also bring a framed reproduction of a related painting which he sponsored and unveiled at Langley Headquarters for the CIA Intelligence Art Gallery in late October of this year.
