Richard Benefield is the Executive Director of the recently opened Walt Disney Family Museum which began operations on October 1st of this year. The Museum is dedicated to telling the story of the life and work of Walt Disney. Before arriving in San Francisco, Mr. Benefield was the Deputy Director of the Harvard University Art Museums and has worked in the past at several other well-known museums on the east coast. While at Harvard, he also held an appointment as Keeper of the D.A. Flentrop Organ in Harvard's Adolphus Busch Hall, the instrument made famous by the concert organist E. Power Biggs.
