Bill Fox was a San Francisco police officer before choosing a career as a sports photographer in 1975. In 1987 he landed his dream job with the San Francisco 49ers, and for 22 years he lived his dream as an artist who was also a fan and forged a distinguished career in his field. He is a recipient of the annual Best Picture contest, and his work hangs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He compiled a choice selection of his work into the pictorial volume, Field Photo: 25 Years on the San Francisco 49ers Sideline. His current creative project is a novel entitled, As Far West as You Can Go. He makes his home in Novato with his Italian-American wife, Rosemary.
